Originallygareth.com is the blog of an adult survivor of child abuse, an adoptee, a c-ptsd sufferer, amateur photographer, guitar player, dyslexic, and mature student, currently studying Access to Media and Journalism at GYC.

I was born in Nottinghamshire Uk in 1970, and was named Gareth by my birth mother, at 10 days of age, I was adopted by another family and my original identity was changed. In this blog I hope to explore and explain my difficulties with my search for self , having in essence two identities, and my feelings and experiences of being an adoptee.

During my childhood, I survived emotional, physical, and sexual abuse by my adoptive family, and a close family friend of my adoptive brother. This has left me with a lasting legacy of Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, which even now causes me to experience difficulties in my daily life. Through this blog, I hope that others may gain an insight into the effects of child abuse, and especially the abuse of an adoptee post-adoption, and hope that those who may find themselves in similar circumstances can draw some strength from the knowledge that they are not alone.

I will also endeavour to share my journey through college as a dyslexic mature student, returning to education 30 years after leaving school. Scared doesn't even come close to describing it!

I am a keen amateur photographer, and will be adding to the gallery as often as I can.

I love music and play guitar as a way of relaxing my mind, who knows I may even post a video or two of my playing if I receive enough requests!

Subscribers can expect regular updates and posts, covering all subjects that have meaning to me, so please subscribe and drop me a line, with any questions or requests for subject matter as you see fit.

I look forward to hearing from you!
